Antikythera mechanism: gears that modeled the sky

A 5-beat faceless video outline for “Antikythera mechanism: gears that modeled the sky” in the Museum object stories niche, derived from caption timing of 2 reference videos.

Angles

• Open on divers finding a corroded gear stack that forces a tech-history rewrite
• Explain what the mechanism modeled (sky cycles) in plain words
• Honesty: reconstructions are models of best evidence, not time machines
• Close on why one object can move the timeline of complex gearing

Beat-by-beat structure

1. Hook (0:00–0:30): a shipwreck yields a computer-like device — promise the gears.
2. Function (0:30–3:00): predicting celestial cycles with bronze gear trains.
3. Evidence (3:00–5:00): imaging, fragments, and what surprised researchers.
4. Meaning card (5:00–6:30): complexity earlier than textbooks assumed.
5. Recap. Original narration only.
